COVID-19 Response

As COVID-19 continues to spread widely across the UK we are committed to providing regular updates and information to our clients, sub-contractors and supply chain regarding the ongoing situation throughout our business and keeping our clients updated in a timely manner with regard to any impact to our daily activities.

Our business is currently operating ‘as normal’ however we are taking each day as it comes at the moment and trying our hardest as a team to react to the latest information and Government advise on how to best handle the current situation.

We continue to follow the issued guidance from the Government and in addition, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and NHS.

  • We are providing regular daily updates to our employees and sub-contractors
  • We have ensured that managers and supervisors know how to spot the symptoms of COVID-19 and are clear on processes, for example sickness reporting and procedures in case someone in the workplace develops the virus
  • For site teams, our Project Managers / Supervisors will be carrying out daily Tool Box Talks on COVID-19 to ensure that all of our fixing teams are fully aware of the procedures to limit exposure risk
  • PPE issued i.e. gloves / glasses / ear plugs / dust masks, will be changed and disposed of more frequently and for certain items disposed of and reissued on a daily basis
  • Individual hand sanitiser gel has been issued to every individual working across our sites and will constantly be reissued so that it can be used frequently all day
  • Operatives are being instructed to wash hands frequently all day whilst on site
  • Individual working areas are being sprayed frequently with sanitising sprays
  • Contact between individual site fixers is being limited where physically possible
  • We are looking at implementing split shift working to minimise the risk of infection
  • Daily H&S Briefings
  • No biometric site access, installers attending sites have been allocated numbers to quote on entry on certain sites
  • 2m markings on site entry with queuing systems in place to maintain social distancing
  • Any employee or sub-contractor that has recently returned from a restricted zone classified by WHO have been asked not to attend any of our sites and advised to self-isolate for a minimum period of 2 weeks whether they show symptoms or not
  • We have closed our Clerkenwell Head Office and all office-based staff are now working remotely from home
  • As a company we have always had robust online systems in place meaning we can maintain fully operational from an administrative perspective across our business
  • We are liaising with our supply chain to keep up to date with international changes on lead times, logistics and restrictions on material that is due to come in to the UK from Europe
  • We are ensuring that material for projects is reserved and stored off site in suppliers warehouses so that it can readily be called off on to projects where possible in a timely manner

I want to assure you that we are working hard and doing all that we physically can as company to minimise the impact to our clients, projects and supply chain at this difficult time that we all find ourselves in and will continue to do so where it is safe and possible.
